“Let go and give way”, said Armani pertaining to the fashion’s untouchable icons. Armani thinks it’s hard for the new designers to find their place in the world of fashion because the famous designers and untouchable icons in the industry firmly hold their places.
Giorgio Armani, the doyen of Italian fashion further stated that the founding designers of many fashion companies should learn and must let go of their companies and t
he industry no matter how it hurts.
The designer, now in his 70s and is one of the long-established names in Milan, has kept his investors on their toes as he signals his plans to sell his group.
“It is painful but you need to have the courage that, once it is done - not to have any claims over it,” said Armani exclusively to Italian daily Il Sole 24 Ore.
According to Armani, it is really hard for someone who created his name and his company to detach himself from it but the market needs a radical change not only in names but also in style. It is a lot of clothing and lingerie currently, whereas it could be more focused on shoes and accessories.
Armani has also been known for his smart and perceptive business sense but in his statements, he has been vaguer than other fashion designers of his generation.
