In the early hours of the morning in North East Lincolnshire, more than five hundred women marched wearing only their ladies nightwear. This ladies party was conducted in order to raise much needed money for a hospital and the march was well worth it.
According to reports, about 540 women in their ladies nightwear walked through the aforementioned street on Saturday morning to help raise about 50,000 pounds for St Andrew’s Hospice.
This is the second time this event was conducted. Last year, they were able to raise more than 50,000 pounds and they are hoping that the amount will be matched or exceeded this year.
The women converged at a shopping center before the walk. There were warm-up exercises done before the actual event. By midnight, these ladies started walking from a pre-planned route before ending back to the starting point after hours of fun walking in their nightwear. The event took almost five hours.
Angela Greenfield, one of the active fundraisers for the hospice, believes that they were able to match the amount last year. She added that the hospice relies mostly on donations so these activities are very important to maintain the operations.
