
The London Fashion Week began on Friday with a more solemn note as a wall of condolences for late British designer Alexander McQueen was erected for participants to write on.
McQueen committed suicide with still unidentified reason. McQueen is known for designing smart clothes that revives the nineties and goes beyond the usual norm.
Every fashion tent has wall of condolences set up in order for the public to write on what they feel.
McQueen was found hanged just a few days after his mother’s death.
London’s Fashion Week is considered one of the most prestigious fashion events in the world, similar to the ones staged in Paris and New York. Designers scheduled to showcase their works are Burberry, Paul Smith and Vivienne Westwood.
Dublin-born designer Paul Costelloe already showed trenchcoat-themed collections that gained applause from the audiences.
