
The British Fashion Awards concluded with a bang last week with Burberry’s creative mogul Christopher Bailey clinching the prestigious “Designer of the Year” award for the second time in his career. Bailey also won the same award in 2005.
The 38-year old Yorkshireman has been getting a lot of accolades this year, including the MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honors earlier this year. His collection for the spring and summer 2010 called Burberry Prorsum collection gained positive reviews when it was showcased last September during the London Fashion Week.
Burberry clinched the “Designer Brand” award. Bailey, the fashion line’s chief creative officer, revealed during the acceptance speech that he will continue showcasing products from the Prorsum line at the London Fashion Week in February 2010.
Sir Mick Jagger’s daughter Georgia May Jagger received the “Model of the Year” award for the Versace 2010 campaign. The 17-year old stunner has gained international success on her own.
